The Mexican artist Nuria Montiel experiments with the printing techniques facilitated by her self-developed device „La Imprenta Móvil“ (Mobile Printing Press) to create new mechanisms of communication, exchange and self-organization, especially in public space. Her mobile printing machine enables her to work in the streets, encouraging passers-by to express their thoughts on certain topics, thus engaging directly with various communities and their spontaneous, unanticipated responses. The on-site, handprinted phrases can therefore be seen as both a collaboration with pedestrians and as a collective expression. For …ment, Montiel collected sentences on generation expressed by artists in Mexico City, reproduced here as a plurality of voices representing their thoughts, demands and beliefs.
